Yearning for Home
Lexi didn't think her life could get any worse after her mother passed away. Little did she know, this was just the start of her problems.
It was a beautiful September day, like any other. The only problem: it was Lexi’s first day back at school after she lost her mother. She didn’t want to go, but she knew better than to put up a fight. When it came the time, she stood at the bus stop with her head down. The bus never came. Looking down at her phone, she was relieved to see she missed the bus. Her father was already on his way to pick her up. He might let her stay home just one more day…
Before she knew it, she was being thrown into the back of a van by men she had never seen before. It was not her father. She can’t see anything, yet she hears the screams and cries of other children. She is slowly slipping away… The worst part about this is that her father thinks she is safe at school. He will not worry until after school is over. In seven hours he will realize she is not okay. Who knows what could happen to her in seven hours?
